Integrate Sports Carnival with Kisi

Sports Carnival is an all-in-one booking, waiver, POS, and membership platform built for sportainment venues, including golf simulators, batting cages, paintball fields, axe throwing, and pickleball facilities. Connect Sports Carnival with Kisi to turn every reservation into automated door access: bookings generate time-limited credentials that unlock the facility only during the reserved window, enabling secure 24/7 and fully unmanned operation without staff on site.

info

This is a partner-built integration, maintained and supported by the partner.

Prerequisites

  • A Sports Carnival account with club administrator access
  • Access control enabled for your venue by Sports Carnival. This is done during onboarding: Sports Carnival creates and links your facility's Kisi place. Contact Sports Carnival support to get started
  • Kisi hardware (controller and reader) installed and online at your facility. A Kisi Terminal Pro is only required if you also want QR code wall entry in addition to in-app unlock
note

Sports Carnival manages the Kisi organization on your behalf.

Set up the integration in Sports Carnival

  1. Contact Sports Carnival to enable access control for your venue. Sports Carnival creates a Kisi place for your facility and links it to your account. No action is required in Kisi
  2. Once enabled, sign in to your Sports Carnival admin dashboard and open the Access Control panel
  3. Create access groups that match your membership tiers, such as Monthly Members or Weekend Pass
  4. Have your Kisi hardware installed on site. Provide Sports Carnival support with your reader and controller tokens, along with which readers and controller relays are linked to each door. Sports Carnival support creates the doors in Kisi on your behalf, and once created, they appear automatically in the Access Control panel
  5. Assign each door to the access groups that should be able to open it
  6. Map each membership tier to its access group. Members on a mapped tier receive door access automatically while their membership is active
  7. To enable booking-based access, click Provision Reservation Access Group. This creates a dedicated access group whose doors mirror your member groups. Every eligible reservation grants temporary door access through this group during the reserved time window. You can change which doors it opens at any time from the Doors section

Configuration details

Booking-based access

Once the reservation access group is provisioned, every eligible booking automatically grants the customer door access during their reserved window. This includes bookings that fall outside a member's normal access hours and bookings made by non-members.

In the Access Control panel, the Reservation Access section shows which doors a reservation unlocks. You can change these from the Doors section.

Set the access buffer, which controls how many minutes before the reservation start access begins and how many minutes after it ends access is revoked. One value applies to both sides. The default is 15 minutes and can be set anywhere from 0 to 240.

Membership-based access

In the Membership Access Groups section, map each membership tier to a Kisi access group. Members who subscribe to a mapped tier receive door access automatically. Access is removed automatically when the membership becomes inactive.

How access works

  • Booking access is provisioned just in time. A sync process runs every 5 minutes and grants access when the booking window opens (the start time minus the buffer). Access is revoked after the window closes (the end time plus the buffer). Expect access to appear within about 5 minutes of the window opening.
  • Canceling a booking revokes any active access immediately and automatically.
  • Reschedules are handled automatically. Access is provisioned from the booking's current date and time just before the window opens, so a moved booking grants access at its new time.
  • Membership access updates automatically within minutes of a status change in Sports Carnival.
  • Blocked-off slots and waitlist entries never grant access.

Credential details

  • No Kisi app is required for members or guests. Members unlock doors from the Sports Carnival app using a remote unlock button that works from anywhere with no proximity required. At venues equipped with a Kisi Terminal Pro, members can also unlock with a short-lived QR code held up to the reader.
  • Every unlock is attributed to the individual member in Kisi's audit logs.
  • The door only appears on a customer's unlock screen while their booking window or membership access is active.

Limitations

  • Access is granted to the booking owner, meaning the person the reservation is booked under. Other attendees in a group booking enter with them and do not receive individual credentials.
  • Door assignment is per group. You can gate exterior and interior doors differently by assigning them to different groups, and the reservation access group's doors are adjustable independently.
  • Each venue location is its own Kisi place with its own Access Control panel. Multi-location operators configure each location separately, and no additional Kisi accounts are needed.
  • Front-desk bookings grant access the same way as online bookings, as long as the reservation is attached to a customer.
