Integrate LegitFit with Kisi

LegitFit is a gym management platform that eliminates administrative friction for boutique studios, multi-location gyms, and fitness professionals. The Kisi integration brings value to facility owners by unifying membership databases with cloud-based access control. In real-time, the system automatically grants, updates, or revokes door access based on active bookings and membership status within LegitFit. This allows members to effortlessly unlock doors using mobile credentials, while empowering owners to run flexible or 24/7 unstaffed hours with zero manual administrative overhead.

Prerequisites

• Kisi organization administrator rights
• A LegitFit professional account with a Kisi Access Control subscription
• The LegitFit app or your LegitFit Branded App

Generate a Kisi API key

You need to have organization administrator or organization owner rights to create an API key. We recommend creating API keys from the organization owner's account, to avoid the API key becoming invalid when an organization admin loses their admin rights.

1. Sign in to Kisi
2. On the top right corner, click on your name and click on My Account
3. Next, select the API tab and click on Add API Key
4. Enter the name for the API key and your Kisi password and click Add
5. Copy the API key shown on the screen and click Close

Set up the integration in LegitFit

Once you have your Kisi API key, configure the integration in the LegitFit dashboard.

1. Sign in to LegitFit
2. Navigate to User Settings > Integrations
3. Find the Kisi integration and click Configure Kisi
4. Enter the Kisi API key you copied earlier
5. Enter your Kisi organization ID and place ID
6. Click Setup Kisi

For multi-location organizations, use the existing place ID for each location and configure each location accordingly.

Configuration details

After you set up the integration, LegitFit automatically creates a Kisi group named "Organization Name" Clients. Every client who creates a Kisi login is added to this group automatically.

The LegitFit app adds a new lock option, so clients can create a Kisi login and use it at the Kisi reader. As an owner, you also get lock overrides for every lock at each location connected to your Kisi organization, letting you unlock those doors directly from LegitFit.

How access works

• A client can generate a login for the Kisi reader when they have an open-access product, or when a booking is starting within the next 15 minutes.
• Each login is valid for 5 minutes. If it expires before the client reaches the door, they simply generate a new one — as long as they still meet the access conditions above.
• To block access at certain times even when a client has a valid login, set up an access schedule in the Kisi dashboard.
