Visual analytics
Visual analytics lets you track how many people are present in defined areas of your facility over time. By mapping areas on your floor plan to the corresponding camera view, Kisi can report on occupancy per area based on camera detection.
Visual analytics currently supports only some of the VIVOTEK VORTEX cameras. Support for additional camera models will be added in the future.
Prerequisites
- Advanced reports enabled for your organization
- A configured camera integration (currently limited to some VIVOTEK VORTEX cameras)
- A floor plan
- A camera with a clear, unobstructed view of each area you want to track
Set up visual analytics
Define areas on the floor plan
- Sign in to Kisi
- In the left sidebar, click Insights
- Select Floor Plans
- Click Edit
- If you have not uploaded a floor plan yet, upload one now
- Click Area > Add
- Using your mouse, create the area you want the camera to track by clicking on the boundaries of the area on the floor plan.
- Enter the area name and capacity
- Select the camera that will be overlooking this area
- Click Save
Repeat for each area you want to track.
Map camera to floor plan areas
Once your areas are defined, you need to calibrate the camera view against the floor plan so Kisi can accurately translate what the camera sees into floor plan coordinates.
- Click on Camera
- Click the camera icon next to the camera you want to configure
- Place 4 calibration points by moving matching spots on both the camera view and the floor plan. Each point on the camera view must correspond to the same physical location on the floor plan (for example, a door corner or a visible mark on the floor).
- Click Save
Ensure that every area you want to track is fully visible in the camera's field of view. If any part of an area falls outside the camera's view, occupancy tracking for that area will be inaccurate.

Once set up, occupancy data per area is reported in the Floor Plans report.
