Credentials

Credentials identify a user to Kisi. We offer physical, mobile, and digital credentials. iOS users can conveniently store their Kisi credentials (Apple Passes) in the Wallet app and access facilities using their iPhone or Apple Watch.

Physical credentials

Kisi offers different ways for unlocking doors with physical credentials.

Mobile credentials

Kisi organization administrators may configure various modes of operation for mobile credentials:

  • Tap to Unlock allows users to unlock doors by tapping their mobile device to a Kisi Reader without having to actively use the Kisi apps for Android or iOS. With two-factor authentication enabled, users are required to unlock their mobile device before tapping it against the Kisi Reader.
  • Tap in-app provides the option to unlock doors from within the Kisi iOS and Android apps
  • MotionSense allows users to unlock a door with just a wave of the hand

Digital credentials

Kisi supports two types of digital credentials: Access links and QR codes.

  • Access links in Kisi are web-based credentials that allow visitors or temporary staff to unlock doors simply by tapping on a link, without needing to sign up for a Kisi account or download mobile apps.

  • QR codes operate similarly to access links. Users can present these QR codes to a compatible Kisi Terminal upon arrival at the site to gain door access swiftly and conveniently.

Apple Passes

Kisi supports Apple Wallet, allowing users to conveniently store their Kisi credentials (Apple Passes) in the Wallet app and access facilities using their iPhone or Apple Watch. To unlock doors, users simply need to bring their iPhone or Apple Watch in close proximity to the relevant reader–no Kisi mobile app or any additional permissions required.
