Access links

By sending access links, you can allow visitors or temporary staff to unlock doors in your place without having to sign up for a Kisi account, or download the mobile apps.

By sending access links, you can allow visitors or temporary staff to unlock doors in your place without having to sign up for a Kisi account, or download the mobile apps.

Users with a digital credential can unlock doors associated with the link without having to sign in. Also, Geofence restrictions and Kisi Reader restrictions do not apply to digital credentials, allowing remote door opening from any location. To ensure secure usage, please follow our recommended access link best practices.

The quota for the total number of email links existing at the same time is set to 1000. Should you need to request an increase of this quota, please contact your Kisi Account Executive or Kisi Sales.

  1. Sign in to Kisi
  2. On your organization dasboard, navigate to Credentials
  3. Select the Digital credentials tab
  4. Click on Send access link
  5. Open the Type dropdown and select Access link
  6. Enter the recipient's name
  7. Under Send link via, select Email
  8. Enter a valid email address
  9. Under Group, select the appropriate group to which the user will be added
  10. Set the access link validity using the Valid from and Valid until fields. To create an access link that is valid immediately and never expires, leave these fields blank.
  11. Click on Send link

  • The monthly quota for creating text message (SMS) links is set at 10. Once the allocated quota is reached, you will not be able to create further access links via text message. If you wish to increase your monthly quota, please contact your service provider or Kisi Sales.
  • Currently, only phone numbers from the United States, Canada and Puerto Rico are supported.

  2. On your organization dasboard, navigate to Credentials
  3. Select the Digital credentials tab
  4. Click on Send access link
  5. Open the Type dropdown and select Access link
  6. Enter the recipient's name
  7. Under Send link via, select Text message
  8. Under Phone number, enter the phone number where the access link should be sent
  9. Under Group, select the appropriate group to which the user will be added
  10. Set the access link validity using the Valid from and Valid until fields. To create an access link that is valid immediately and never expires, leave these fields blank.
  11. Click on Send link

You can also manually send access links by copying and pasting the link.

  2. On your organization dasboard, navigate to Credentials
  3. Select the Digital credentials tab
  4. Click on Send access link
  5. Open the Type dropdown and select Access link
  6. Enter the recipient's name
  7. Under Send link via, select Send manually (copy to clipboard)
  8. Under Group, select the appropriate group to which the user will be added
  9. Set the access link validity using the Valid from and Valid until fields. To create an access link that is valid immediately and never expires, leave these fields blank.
  10. Click on Create
  11. On the Access link details dialogue, you will find the newly generated access link. Click Copy and send it manually through your preferred channel.

The access link can only be copied once and will not be visible after you close the Access link details dialogue.
