Integrate Co-Desk with Kisi

Co-Desk is coworking and coliving management software for independent operators. The Kisi integration automatically grants and revokes door access for members based on bookings, plans, and admin rules, with members able to unlock doors from the Co-Desk Member Portal or the Kisi app.

Prerequisites

  • Kisi organization administrator rights
  • A Co-Desk operator account

Generate a Kisi API key

You need to have organization administrator or organization owner rights to create an API key. We recommend creating API keys from the organization owner's account, to avoid the API key becoming invalid when an organization admin loses their admin rights.

  1. Sign in to Kisi
  2. On the top right corner, click on your name and click on My Account
  3. Next, select the API tab and click on Add API Key
  4. Enter the name for the API key and your Kisi password and click Add
  5. Copy the API key shown on the screen and click Close

Set up the integration in Co-Desk

  1. Sign in to Co-Desk and navigate to Settings > Integrations
  2. Click Add next to Kisi Access Control
  3. Click the + button to assign Kisi to your location(s)
  4. Click Settings to open the configuration modal
  5. Paste your Kisi API key and click Test Connection. A green checkmark with your Kisi organization name confirms the connection
  6. Click Save

Configure door access

Map doors

  1. Navigate to Door Mappings and click Sync from Provider
  2. Co-Desk imports all Kisi doors and groups automatically
  3. Assign each mapping to the correct location and space

Grant access via plans

  1. Open a plan and click the Door Access tab
  2. Add the door mapping. Plan subscribers automatically receive access when they subscribe and lose it when they cancel

Grant manual access

For staff, contractors, or one-off visitors, admins can grant door access to any member independently of bookings or plans.

  1. Open a member's detail page and click the Door Access tab
  2. Click Grant Door Access
  3. Select a door or group from the dropdown
  4. (Optional) Set Starts At and Ends At dates — leave blank for immediate, indefinite access
  5. Click Grant Access

The member will see the door in their My Keys page immediately. To revoke access, click the Revoke action (X icon) next to the access record. To restore a revoked grant, click Restore.

An hourly background job expires manual grants that have passed their end date. When a booking ends or a subscription is canceled, Co-Desk revokes the corresponding Kisi access automatically.

Member access

Members can unlock doors from the My Keys page in the Co-Desk Member Portal without installing the Kisi app. The Kisi mobile app provides additional features like NFC and Bluetooth unlock.
