Transportation security

All communication between Kisi devices, apps, and services is encrypted using HTTPS and TLS protocols.

Network architecture

Kisi uses IP-based devices that work on your existing network infrastructure. This provides:

  • Standard networking: No special cabling required
  • Remote management: Cloud-based configuration
  • Scalability: Easy device addition

Communication security

Cloud communication:

  • TLS 1.2: All connections to Kisi Cloud encrypted
  • Mutual authentication: Devices and servers verify each other
  • Certificate validation: Full PKI chain verification

Local communication:

  • AES encryption: Local device communication encrypted
  • Message signing: All messages cryptographically signed
  • Replay protection: Prevents network attacks

Network requirements

  • HTTPS: All web communications use HTTPS
  • TLS 1.2 minimum: Older protocols rejected
  • Certificate validation: Full certificate chain verification
