Configure door

By configuring restrictions you can control how and when users can access your door.

  1. On your place dashboard, click on Doors
  2. Click on your newly created door
  3. Under the general settings, you have two options:
  • Enable Geofence restriction if this specific door should only allow unlocks from users that are within a distance of maximum 300 meters (~0.2 miles) from the building. Users further than that will be denied access.
  • Enable Kisi Reader restriction if this specific door should only allow unlocks from users that are standing in front of the door, using the Kisi Reader.
  1. Click Save

Set a scheduled unlock

Scheduled unlocks allow you to keep your door unlocked during a defined time period. For example, you can set a door to be unlocked Monday through Friday from 9 AM to 5 PM, or for a single event on Sunday from 2 PM - 6 PM.

  1. Scroll down on the Doors detail page
  2. Click on Scheduled Unlocks > Add Scheduled Unlock
  3. In the Type dropdown, choose between Single Event or a Recurring Event:
  • For Single Events, you can select the unlock event to occur all day and for a specific time window
  • For Recurring Events, you can select the unlock event to occur on a specific day within a time period, or have the door unlocked all day
  1. Add a start/end date and time
  2. Click Save

You can anytime come back and edit, disable, or delete the schedule, if needed.

  1. To edit: open the schedule and make your adjustments
  2. To disable: go to the Scheduled Unlocks overview section and turn off the toggle next to the schedule
  3. To delete: go to the Scheduled Unlocks overview section and click on the bin icon next to the schedule

Set time restriction

Time restriction can be used to restrict users from making unlocks during a defined time period at this specific door. For example, you can make sure that the company conference room can only be booked at a specific time (e.g. 12 pm to 3 PM). If users attempt to unlock the door outside of those hours, they will be denied access.

  1. Scroll down on the Doors detail page
  2. Click on Time Restrictions > Add Time Restriction
  3. In the Type dropdown, choose between Single Event or a Recurring Event:
  • For Single Events, you can select the restriction to occur all day and for a specific time window
  • For Recurring Events, you can select the restriction to occur on a specific day within a time period, or restrict access on that door all day
  1. Add a start/end date and time
  2. Click Save

Add door to favorites

Mark your frequently used doors as favorites to make sure they are shown on top of the doors list.

  1. Open your Doors list
  2. Navigate to the door you want to mark as favorite, and click on the star icon next to it

On to the next step

Now that you have your door set up, you just need to assign it to the hardware.
